Little girl from How The Grinch Stole Christmas is unrecognizable now
Although it may be hard to believe, How The Grinch Stole Christmas was released 23 years ago, and the little girl, Cindy Lou, played by Taylor Momsen, is completely unrecognizable now.
The movie star, who now has a music career, was seven years old when she played the iconic part in the film, and she’s taken to social media to compare herself from then to now.
Taylor Momsen is now a rockstar
The former child star is now 30 years old and has put the acting aside and is now a singer, songwriter, and model.
However, her acting days didn’t stop after The Grinch. She then went on to star in the hit TV show, Gossip Girl as Jenny Humphrey, the younger sister of Penn Badgley’s character Dan. However, she left after the third season.
Speaking on her time on the show on Penn Badgley’s Podcrushed podcast with SiriusXM, the former child star said:
“[Acting] was a childhood thing that I got put into at two years old. I wasn’t making my own choices then.
“Literally, as soon as I got to an age where I could make my own decisions, it was like a click… I woke up one morning and went, ‘Wait a second. I don’t have to do this? I don’t have to do this other job? I can just play in my band and tour and write songs? I can just do that?'”
She also said she was ‘forever grateful’ to the show for allowing her to ‘follow her dreams’.
Taylor is now in the rock band, The Pretty Reckless, which was formed in 2009. Alongside her in the band are Ben Phillips, Mark Damon, and Jamie Perkins.
They released their first studio album Light Me Up, in August 2010.
The star ‘has big things’ coming next year
Taking to her Instagram, the now 30-year-old celebrated Christmas time by posting a throwback of herself in an interview from her childhood, explaining how she “loved to sing”.
She then proceeded to go ahead and sing a song from the iconic Christmas movie.
As the younger version of herself proceeded to go ahead and sing, Taylor then cut to a video of herself at one of her gigs recently.
In the video, she can be seen running up and down the stage in a blue mini dress, as she sang towards a cheering crowd.
